Frazier Historic Museum

Frazier Historic Museum

Located on Museum Row in the Bourbon District of downtown Louisville, the Frazier documents and reinterprets stories from history using artifacts, gallery talks, and live daily interpretations by a talented staff of costumed actors known as teaching artists. With the opening of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Welcome Center and The Spirit of Kentucky® exhibit, the Frazier became the official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, a project launched in 1999 by the Kentucky Distillers’ Association.

Founded in 2004 by local philanthropist Owsley Brown Frazier, the Frazier opened as an arms museum, but later expanded its focus to Kentucky, U.S., and world history. The museum houses of one of the largest collections of toy soldiers and historical miniatures on permanent public display in the world, The Stewart Collection. Subjects of permanent exhibitions include historical arms and bourbon whiskey. In 2018, the Frazier became the official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®.

The Distillery is filled to the brim with History, Traditon and lots of bourbon, Your group will love this tour!

Southern Charm at its best!

Yes, Bourbon is a spirit that comes in a glass, but it’s also a spirit that defines our culture and compassion, our arts and parks, our creative energy. It’s this same spirit that continued and created Louisville itself - a city that combines heritage with innovation, authenticity with originality, quirkiness with friendliness in a way that’s completely unique to our region. We’re an entirely different type of Southern. From boundary pushing twists on Southern cuisine that have made us one of the “10 Best New Food Cities” in America to our one and only Urban Bourbon Experience™, featuring the world’s only, city-wide trail filled with award-winning micro-distilleries, exhibits and craft cocktail destinations. Then discover one-of-a-kind attractions like the legendary Churchill Downs, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, and the Muhammad Ali Center. And that’s just your first day here.
